Lisa Simeone

Picture of Lisa Simeone Lisa Simeone has worked in radio and TV since 1983, as an announcer and producer of cultural and public affairs programs. From 1997-2000, Simeone hosted the nationally syndicated public radio documentary series Soundprint, for which she has also produced three documentaries: "Bachelor Party," "Strippers: Thinly Veiled," and "Money in the Family." For thirteen seasons she hosted the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Casual Concerts, carried on approximately 150 public radio stations around the country. Simeone has also produced quirky features on Baltimore life for NPR's All Things Considered and Morning Edition, as well as for local Baltimore television.

Simeone began her career presenting classical music at WBJC in Baltimore and WETA in Washington, D.C. During her ten years at WJHU in Baltimore, she developed a loyal following for her unique mix of programming--classical, folk, and jazz, along with provocative interviews on a wide variety of subjects. She also produced and hosted public affairs call-in programs. She is now a freelancer, doing voice-overs, narrations, and hosting for the Discovery Channel, PBS, National Public Radio, and commercial enterprises.

Simeone was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland (the "Great Books School"). In 1997, Simeone earned an M.A. from the Writing Seminars at the Johns Hopkins University.
