Scotland ... the land that brought us the steam engine, the thermos flask, the pneumatic tyre, and the vacuum cleaner - to say nothing of single malt whisky. But few people know that Scotland is also in the vanguard of a bold experiment in social justice and economic equality. As producer Bob Carty found out, the Scots are not only enmeshed in explosive debates about power, and wealth and privilege, but also about how to revive the economy and culture of rural Scotland.
